Migraine
headaches have been diagnosed historically
as vascular headaches with treatment protocols limited to pharmaceuticals
that treat the symptoms but do nothing to address the cause.

Recent nationwide work in the field
of functional jaw orthopedics has shown a dramatic correlation between migraine
headaches and TMJ dysfunction through actual treatment results. Over 90%
of patients with migraine headache symptoms have been shown to have TMJ
dysfunction and, when treated, 90% of these patients have had total migraine
symptom relief.

Dr. George Walseth

is a general dentist with special interests in TMJ dysfunction and cranio-facial
pain. He uses innovative approaches to treat the problems and symptoms caused
by severe TMJ dysfunction.

Dr. Walseth is a 1972 graduate
of the University of Pacific Dental School in San Francisco and has practiced
in Santa Barbara since 1976. He is a member of the American Dental Association,
California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society,
American Association of Functional Orthodontists and the American Academy
of Pain Management.

Dr. Walseth has studied with internationally
known TMJ authorities Dr. John Witzig, Dr. Terrance Spahl, Dr. William Clark
and Dr. Joseph Lytle. The combined research and clinical work of this group
has led to the unique approach to TMJ therapy that Dr. Walseth utilizes.
This treatment regimen is complimented by use of state of the art TMJ tomographic
radiography and joint vibration analysis equipment that
interprets TMJ sounds for more accurate
diagnosis. The clinical success of this treatment for chronic head and neck
pain patients places it in the forefront of TMJ therapy. |
